Pre-Purchase and Roadworthy Inspections in Warwick

Morgan Park Performance & Service Centre perform thorough and comprehensive safety certificate (roadworthy inspections) and pre-purchase inspections for Warwick locals looking to buy or sell a car. Our team of experts are all qualified mechanics, each with extensive experience in performing roadworthy and pre-purchase inspections to set criteria.

Safety certificates are a legal requirement for vehicles to be sold in Queensland, and we always recommend getting a pre-purchase inspection on a used car not under warranty to save you from future headaches. Please give us a call to have one of our veteran mechanics perform a thorough check on a vehicle you intend to purchase or sell.

Roadworthy Inspections:

Obtaining a roadworthy certificate for your vehicle is a legal requirement in order to be able to sell it privately. Our roadworthy inspections follow a strict set of criteria mandated by the Queensland Government but include a full mechanical inspection and handwritten or electronic safety certificate if your vehicle passes. We’ll test that all safety components of your vehicle work correctly and that all mechanical components are in a safe state to use on the road.

Our roadworthy inspections include:

  • Suspension and Brake Checks
  • Checks for oil leaks
  • Checks of seatbelts
  • Checks of headlights, taillights and emergency lights
  • Checks of chassis, accident history
  • Tyre and wheel alignment check

Per government requirements, roadworthy certificates are charged at a flat fee.

Pre-Purchase Inspections:

You might have found what might seem like the perfect vehicle for you, but it could be a ticking time bomb underneath. Whilst we recommend pre-purchase inspections for all vehicles, cars sold in private sale have no consumer guarantees, and a pre-purchase inspection is a necessity to ensure you won’t be up for thousands in repairs shortly after purchasing. It’s important to stress that while a vehicle may have a roadworthy certificate, this does not mean it is well maintained; roadworthy certificates simply ensure that the vehicle is safe to use on the road and doesn’t leak oil.

Our pre-purchase inspections include a mechanical evaluation and test drive of the vehicle, checking for vibration and rattling, as well as ensuring that the car brakes well and puts down power without hesitation. A list of any faults and required work will be provided to you after the inspection.

Whilst it may be hard to give an exact quote during a pre-purchase inspection, we can give you a rough idea of how much it would cost to bring the car back up to scratch. Based on our experience, we’ll recommend whether the car is worth purchasing, or if you should instead put the extra cost to repair on top of your budget to find a similar model in good working condition.
